I spent years stifling the desire to be an author. I’ve always loved creating story, diving into characters that reflected my fears and dreams in fantastical ways.
After starting an unknown number of novels, I’d always let the whispers that I couldn’t make money writing books give me the perfect excuse to put the manuscript in a forgotten file. Maybe I’d come back to the world I’d built at a better time. Most likely, just like so many authors, I’d never come back to it at all.
In the spring of 2019, I realized how silly it was to let others’ opinions limit my abilities. I finished a manuscript that was more than halfway done, studied everything I could get my hands on about publishing, and self-published that manuscript in the end of December 2019. Since then, I’ve written eighteen more books, have gotten over 350,000 copies of my novels into readers' hands, and created income to help support my family.
Once I figured out the potential of self-publishing, I realized I don’t want other authors to waste time waiting. I want to give them the support and knowledge necessary to ignite their writing life on fire, too.
My biggest struggles were my inability to see a novel through to the end and my lack of confidence that there are people who want to read it, if I ever did finish. After talking with many young authors, I know I'm not the only one who struggles with these.
As a homeschool mom of five, I've noticed that while there are several good programs available for writing. However, there aren't any programs to help guide those students passionate writing into how to make money as a self-published author.
Times have changed and earning a decent income writing is not just a pipe dream anymore. If given the right tools and support, young authors can follow their dreams of writing. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but no longer do we need to put our passion for writing aside. But, in order to have a solid business, you have to start with a quality product.
That's why I'm starting my pilot courses with the Anatomy of a Best Selling Novel and Series.
This 7-week course will help young authors serious about writing create the elements needed to write a series that is not only entertaining, but marketable so they can have a solid base to start their publishing business with.
Do you have a student serious about writing?
Do they struggle with organizing their story ideas into full-fledged novels?
Are their characters falling flat or come off as cliche?
Do they worry that no one will want to read their story?
Do they lose focus and never finish a project?
If so, this course will help them:
- develop characters and plots that intrigue readers,
- nail down genre expectations and how they can write uniquely within those expectations,
- create a writing schedule that will have their first or next novel drafted in months rather than years or never.
By the end of the seven weeks, they will be fully equipped to create their marketable series.
This pilot is limited to 15-20 students and will include:
- Seven weekly 90-minute group coaching calls via Zoom
- Recordings of coaching calls
- Two 60-minute 1-on-1 online coaching sessions with Sara
- Unlimited email support from Sara
- Lifetime access to private group for support and encouragement
- Bonus: All participants will receive first dibs at a spot in the next pilot, Anatomy of an Authorprenuer, launching January 2023 and gain access to the affiliate program where you can earn 20% commission from writers you suggest to the program.
When is it?
November 7th through December 23rd
Meeting via Zoom every Monday from 10:30 am to Noon Alaskan time (recordings provided)
What is the tuition?
When I move forward with my full program, the course will cost $697. Because this is a pilot program and I welcome input and feedback, I’m offering it to authors for $297. Additional family members can enroll at a discount. Please contact me for that information.
How do I enroll?
I’m only accepting 15-20 participants in the pilot program, and the deadline to sign up is October 28th.
